June, 2022 - Powderface, Jumpingpound, Moose, and Baldy

It's been a busy month of catch-up since we got back from our Scotland Trip, and it was time for us to get back out onto the trails and into the mountains.

Powderface - June 17
Amanda and Sam headed out for a quick hike. She said it was rough, but felt good at the same time!

Next up was a solo hike for Mandy. I was still at work, and was very jealous when the photos came in...

Moose Mountain - June 24
My first hike since being back happened when Mandy, Sam, and I made a late-day decision to head for the fire lookout on Moose Mountain. See Sam's blog here for a description and very cool video.

Mount Baldy - June 26
It was such a beautiful weekend that the three of us couldn't help but get out one more time on Sunday morning with our friends Lexi and Mikey Farmer, and Mikey's friend Will. We originally planned on going to Wasootch Ridge, but opted for Mount Baldy when we saw the massive number of cars in the Wasootch parking lot. I had done Baldy once before, but forgot how much of a grind it is - 2.1 km to the summit, 780 m ascent... 😲 It was a good test for all of us, but we made it to the top where we enjoyed Mandy's fresh-baked chocolate zucchini muffins!! It was a blue blazer day, with little to no wind, even at the summit. Sam has done another great job on his blog post here, so I will leave it at that, with a few pictures below.
